Cottages for families and friends in and around Wilderswood

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to Wilderswood , we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Wilderswood Accomodation

Wherever you stay in Wilderswood there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. Banking on non-stop sunny weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Wer're sure you'll come up with a great plan, but it might help to have one in advance. Just in case!

Holiday Cottages

In the unlikely event that you are not delighted with your holiday cottage in Wilderswood please email or call the agency you made the booking with. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your Wilderswood holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Although you may not be familiar with the Wilderswood area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. Wilderswood cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Wilderswood much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
