For a great stay in the UK with family or friends, holiday cottages are the best way to relax and forget about the stresses of normal life. And booking your Rake cottage couldn't be simpler, just narrow down the accommodation you're looking for and click on the one you like the most! Cottage owners expect you to leave the property in the same condition as you found it - clean and tidy - and will almost always provide cleaning materials for you. Pet-friendly cottages are on the rise however we do recommend that you ask in advance - unless it's stated on the booking details. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. You can never rely on the weather in Rake, West Sussex or frankly anywhere in the UK. If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue. Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.
All the agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or problems. Some of the best cottages in Rake are really excellent and so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid availability disappointment. The owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Rake has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible. Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips. Whether there's a pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them. You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
