Torthorwald Cottages
Cottages for families and friends in and around Torthorwald

Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Torthorwald, we recommend you bring some essential items. Rainproof clothing and a light umbrella should be the first things to pack. The rain only comes when you are not prepared.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Torthorwald Accomodation

Wherever you stay in Torthorwald there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. You can never truly rely on the weather in Torthorwald Dumfries and Galloway or frankly anywhere in the UK.

Although its great to be outside in Torthorwald, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Wer're sure you'll come up with a great plan, but it might help to have one in advance. Just in case!

Although you may not be familiar with the Torthorwald area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Torthorwald so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

We hope you have a really enjoyable holiday in Torthorwald and remember us next year when it comes to finding the next great Dumfries and Galloway cottage.

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in Torthorwald will carry tear-free shampoo. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Torthorwald much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
