Cottages for families and friends in and around The Sound Of Mull

Many holiday cottages to discover!

In The Sound Of Mull, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

The Sound Of Mull Accomodation

In The Sound Of Mull, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

When you're searching for the best cottage for your stay, make sure that you've thought through the bedroom needs and allocation. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Many The Sound Of Mull visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. If the description of the The Sound Of Mull cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

We want you to have a great holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in The Sound Of Mull. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
