If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

The Sound Of Mull Accomodation

Cottage prices in The Sound Of Mull will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in The Sound Of Mull. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in The Sound Of Mull.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
