Cottage owners expect you to leave the property in the same condition as you found it - clean and tidy - and will almost always provide cleaning materials for you. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. Our great value holiday cottages to rent in Tallaght are sometimes available for rent for a weekend, week, fortnight, two weeks or even longer.

Tallaght Accomodation

Cottage prices in Tallaght will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your Tallaght accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Tallaght. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Tallaght cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. We've prepared a handy shortlist of things to remember for your holiday with kids, just to help the whole experience go well.

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
