Your chosen cottage should be clean and tidy on arrival, and if it is not you should inform the owner or agency immediately so that they can sort it out swiftly. We know many of our visitors like to take their dogs with them and many cottages now allow this. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Strathblane Accomodation

In Strathblane, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

Dog owners often like to spend their holidays in the UK so that they can take their four legged friends with them. If the description of the Strathblane cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Don't forget to make the most of your Stirling holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in Strathblane. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
