We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

St Day Accomodation

Cottage prices in St Day will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. July and August are usually Cornwall school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Owners with often leave instructions on how to use the appliances in the property, as well as some suggestions on the nearest shop to buy a pint of milk etc. St Day Cornwall cottages in are not just good value, but also offer the benefits of home comforts versus a hotel.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in St Day will carry tear-free shampoo. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
