Many holiday cottages to discover!
Whatever time you go to Rotherham, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Rainproof clothing and a light umbrella should be the first things to pack. The rain only comes when you are not prepared.
If you have a DVD player in the South Yorkshire cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!
Getting outside is one of the great benefits of staying in the countryside since so many of us live in urban centres where the air is polluted and greenery is a rarity. Trusting the sun to shine every day is rather optimistic in Rotherham regardless of the time of year.
If you find yourself trapped by the rain in Rotherham you should pull out a board game, a good book or perhaps a game of charades! If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.
Whatever you decide, we're sure it will be a memorable part of your cottage holiday in Rotherham.
All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.
The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Rotherham has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible.
Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.
Families, Friends and More
We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in Rotherham. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.
Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. A large number of our visitors like to use their stay as an opportunity to just put their feet up, gaze at the scenery, take an afternoon nap, and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. Just taking it easy in Rotherham.
There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
