Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Rotherham, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Rainproof clothing and a light umbrella should be the first things to pack. The rain only comes when you are not prepared.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Rotherham Accomodation

Cottage prices in Rotherham will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. July and August are usually South Yorkshire school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

When you're searching for the best cottage for your stay, make sure that you've thought through the bedroom needs and allocation. If you're travelling to Rotherham in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

Dog owners often like to spend their holidays in the UK so that they can take their four legged friends with them. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Wherever you stay, whether it's in Rotherham or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Families, Friends and More

The fact that guests are on holiday in Rotherham in a rental home together, sometimes with three generations in larger rental holiday homes, brings a much different atmosphere to the cottage break or holiday. We've prepared a handy shortlist of things to remember for your holiday with kids, just to help the whole experience go well.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in Rotherham.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
