Many holiday cottages to discover!
Whenever you're travelling to Rotherham, there are a few things you should always take with you. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!
We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.
Getting outside is one of the great benefits of staying in the countryside since so many of us live in urban centres where the air is polluted and greenery is a rarity. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable.
When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. Many cottages now have DVD players so maybe its worth taking a few a classic movies with you.
Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.
All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Nearly all country cottages have free parking near the property, but you may find the urban cottages to have more parking restrictions.
Owners with often leave instructions on how to use the appliances in the property, as well as some suggestions on the nearest shop to buy a pint of milk etc. Rotherham is a great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities.
A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!
Families, Friends and More
Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in Rotherham. You take away some of the pressure that appears when staying in a hotel or b and b - you must eat your meals at this time, you must order from this menu.
You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Rotherham.
But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
