Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Sleaford, we recommend you bring some essential items. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Sleaford Accomodation

In Sleaford, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. July and August are usually Hampshire school summer holidays.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Sleaford accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your Sleaford accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Sleaford with you. If the description of the Sleaford cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Hampshire cottage found through us!

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
