Cottages for families and friends in and around Shefford

Many holiday cottages to discover!

If you want to have the best cottage holiday possible in Shefford, we suggest a few key items to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

Shefford Accomodation

Throughout the Bedfordshire area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your Shefford accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Shefford. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Don't forget to make the most of your Bedfordshire holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

There are few better ways to spend a holiday together as a family than in a holiday cottage where everyone truly is in one place, not dotted around a hotel. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in Shefford will carry tear-free shampoo. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Shefford much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
