Many holiday cottages to discover!

For a great stay in the UK with family or friends, holiday cottages are the best way to relax and forget about the stresses of normal life. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments.

Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. Our great value holiday cottages to rent in Scole are sometimes available for rent for a weekend, week, fortnight, two weeks or even longer.

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. Great weather can never be guaranteed for every day, and there's obviously a chance of a downpour.

Although its great to be outside in Scole, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Holiday Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Scole with you. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Scole cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Enjoy your holiday, we're syure you deserve it. The world moves so very fast and it's great to take a break.

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in Scole. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
