Cottages for families and friends in and around ST1

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to ST1, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

ST1 Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the ST1 cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. You can never truly rely on the weather in ST1 or frankly anywhere in the UK.

If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. Many cottages now have DVD players so maybe its worth taking a few a classic movies with you.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your ST1 accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to ST1. Not all places will welcome pets so please make sure that it's either clearly marked on the booking website, or if not drop a quick line to the owner to make sure.

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in ST1. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in ST1.

There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
