Cottages for families and friends in and around SP3

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whenever you're travelling to SP3, there are a few things you should always take with you. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

SP3 Accomodation

In SP3, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. July and August are usually school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

Although you may not be familiar with the SP3 area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. SP3 has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible.

Some properties will ask for a security deposit before your arrival date - although this is required in a minority of accommodation and you will be advised at time of booking.

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in SP3. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
