Redmile Cottages
Cottages for families and friends in and around Redmile

Many holiday cottages to discover!

If you want to have the best cottage holiday possible in Redmile, we suggest a few key items to take along. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Redmile Accomodation

Benefits of staying in a county cottage include being able to jump out of the front door and take part in outdoor pursuits from walking to horse riding, and from fishing to paddling. Trusting the sun to shine every day is rather optimistic in Redmile regardless of the time of year.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Wer're sure you'll come up with a great plan, but it might help to have one in advance. Just in case!

Holiday Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to Redmile, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Redmile with you. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Wherever you stay, whether it's in Redmile or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
