If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

RH9 Accomodation

Cottage prices in RH9 will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the RH9 school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

Although you may not be familiar with the RH9 area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. RH9 has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in RH9. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. For many people the idea of a RH9 cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
