Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. We know many of our visitors like to take their dogs with them and many cottages now allow this. We often have late availability cottages to rent in Porthleven for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Porthleven Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Porthleven cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. Great weather can never be guaranteed for every day, and there's obviously a chance of a downpour.

If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your Porthleven holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Although you may not be familiar with the Porthleven area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Porthleven so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in Porthleven.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
