Cottages for families and friends in and around PR1

Many holiday cottages to discover!

There's a good reason that cottage holidays are on the rise - they're simply the most fun and best value holidays in the UK. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments.

Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. Always check with the PR1 cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We can help if you're looking for a holiday cottage or other accommodation in PR1 to stay in with your family for a week or two or somewhere in PR1 to stay with friends over a long weekend.

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. Banking on non-stop sunny weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

Although its great to be outside in PR1, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Holiday Cottages

Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the PR1 cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your PR1 holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Although you may not be familiar with the PR1 area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. PR1 cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in PR1. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! A large number of our visitors like to use their stay as an opportunity to just put their feet up, gaze at the scenery, take an afternoon nap, and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. Just taking it easy in PR1.

For others it's an opportunity to get more active, from mountain biking to cross-country running. If you're over 60, we recommend the more relaxed approach!
