Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Outlane, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Outlane Accomodation

In Outlane, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Outlane school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. Booking early is always a good idea. You have a much better chance of getting your preferred date and accommodation. But, that doesn't mean its impossible to get a late booking.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Should you need to cancel your accommodation, again we ask you to contact the agent or owner since we cannot talk to them on your behalf.

Owners with often leave instructions on how to use the appliances in the property, as well as some suggestions on the nearest shop to buy a pint of milk etc. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Outlane so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. If the children are really young, don't forget to take nappies and / or a potty as you may find it harder to buy these at your destination.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
