Cottages for families and friends in and around OX2

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to OX2, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

OX2 Accomodation

In OX2, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of OX2 accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you're travelling to OX2 in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the OX2 cottage. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the OX2 cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Enjoy your holiday, we're syure you deserve it. The world moves so very fast and it's great to take a break.

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in OX2.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
