We love cottage holidays and North Yorkshire has some really great destinations and properties to rent, for families or groups of friends. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments. Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Besides the facilities within the Snainton cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. You can never rely on the weather in Snainton, North Yorkshire or frankly anywhere in the UK. When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games. Wer're sure you'll come up with a great plan, but it might help to have one in advance. Just in case!
We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. Some of the best cottages in Snainton are really excellent and so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid availability disappointment. Owners with often leave instructions on how to use the appliances in the property, as well as some suggestions on the nearest shop to buy a pint of milk etc. North Yorkshire and Snainton are great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities. Some properties will ask for a security deposit before your arrival date - although this is required in a minority of accommodation and you will be advised at time of booking.

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring. Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them. Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
