Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. Pet-friendly cottages are on the rise however we do recommend that you ask in advance - unless it's stated on the booking details. A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

We've prepared a shortlist of things to remember for your holiday with kids, just to help the whole experience go well. Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Trunch much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions. You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
