If you have a DVD player in the West Yorkshire cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Mytholmroyd Accomodation

The rates for Mytholmroyd cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Mytholmroyd school summer holidays.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

Holiday Cottages

When you're searching for the best cottage for your stay, make sure that you've thought through the bedroom needs and allocation. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Mytholmroyd with you. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Mytholmroyd cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Don't forget to make the most of your West Yorkshire holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
