We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Maidford Accomodation

Wherever you stay in Maidford there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Holiday Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Maidford . We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a cottage found through us!

Families, Friends and More

There are few better ways to spend a holiday together as a family than in a holiday cottage where everyone truly is in one place, not dotted around a hotel. We've prepared a handy shortlist of things to remember for your holiday with kids, just to help the whole experience go well.

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Maidford much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
