If you have a DVD player in the cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Madeley Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Madeley cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Holiday Cottages

In the unlikely event that you are not delighted with your holiday cottage in Madeley please email or call the agency you made the booking with. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

Many owners, if they are local, will be pleased to give you tips on the best pubs and restaurants around, so make sure you ask and take advantage of the info! Madeley has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. If the children are really young, don't forget to take nappies and / or a potty as you may find it harder to buy these at your destination.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
