Low Hesket Cottages
Cottages for families and friends in and around Low Hesket

Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Low Hesket, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

If you like watching films and there's a DVD facility in the cottage then it's a good idea to stock up on some good movies so you can spend a couple of nights enjoying the classics. Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Low Hesket Accomodation

Wherever you stay in Low Hesket there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. Banking on non-stop sunny Cumbria weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Many Low Hesket visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. If the description of the Low Hesket cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Cumbria cottage found through us!

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in Low Hesket. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! A large number of our visitors like to use their stay as an opportunity to just put their feet up, gaze at the scenery, take an afternoon nap, and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. Just taking it easy in Low Hesket.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
