53 PROPERTIES in and around WEST END
Getting outside is one of the great benefits of staying in the countryside since so many of us live in urban centres where the air is polluted and greenery is a rarity. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable. If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue. Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.
The fact that guests are on holiday in West End in a rental home together, sometimes with three generations in larger rental holiday homes, brings a much different atmosphere to the cottage break or holiday. Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring. Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. If the children are really young, don't forget to take nappies and / or a potty as you may find it harder to buy these at your destination. Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
USING THE SITE
There are many companies that offer a range of holiday cottages you can directly book, but our approach is different - we have collated thousands of cottages from different owners and operators and we organise them to help you choose.
When you find a cottage you like we will direct you to the booking agent and you can make your reservation directly with them.
