Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whenever you're travelling to Lane End, there are a few things you should always take with you. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

If you have a DVD player in the Kent cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Lane End Accomodation

Benefits of staying in a county cottage include being able to jump out of the front door and take part in outdoor pursuits from walking to horse riding, and from fishing to paddling. Banking on non-stop sunny Kent weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.

Holiday Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to Lane End, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Lane End cottage. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Wherever you stay, whether it's in Lane End or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Families, Friends and More

The fact that guests are on holiday in Lane End in a rental home together, sometimes with three generations in larger rental holiday homes, brings a much different atmosphere to the cottage break or holiday. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in Lane End will carry tear-free shampoo. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Lane End much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
