We love cottage holidays and Lancashire has some really great destinations and properties to rent, for families or groups of friends. We are focused on delivering the best possible choice of properties around Chatburn - please take advantage of all the options and find the cottage that is best for you! Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. We often have late availability cottages to rent in Chatburn for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable. If you find yourself trapped by the rain in Chatburn you should pull out a board game, a good book or perhaps a game of charades! If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on. Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.
Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Chatburn cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Some of the best cottages in Chatburn are really excellent and so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid availability disappointment. We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. Chatburn cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality. Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you. Its always a good idea to take swim suits even if you don't expect to be near a beach because you may well find a local swimming pool can be great fun. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them. You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
