Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to L37, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Rainproof clothing and a light umbrella should be the first things to pack. The rain only comes when you are not prepared.

If you like watching films and there's a DVD facility in the cottage then it's a good idea to stock up on some good movies so you can spend a couple of nights enjoying the classics. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. Great weather can never be guaranteed for every day, and there's obviously a chance of a downpour.

Although its great to be outside in L37, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. Many cottages now have DVD players so maybe its worth taking a few a classic movies with you.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

Many L37 visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

The fact that guests are on holiday in L37 in a rental home together, sometimes with three generations in larger rental holiday homes, brings a much different atmosphere to the cottage break or holiday. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in L37 will carry tear-free shampoo. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in L37.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
