Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Kelty, we recommend you bring some essential items. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

If you have a DVD player in the Fife cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Kelty Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Kelty cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. You can never truly rely on the weather in Kelty Fife or frankly anywhere in the UK.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Kelty cottage. Many places will accept dogs, but it's always a good idea to double check in advance if it's not mentioned on the booking website.

Don't forget to make the most of your Fife holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in Kelty. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. For many people the idea of a Kelty cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
