Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to Horsell Birch , we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Horsell Birch Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Horsell Birch cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. Banking on non-stop sunny weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Families, Friends and More

There are few better ways to spend a holiday together as a family than in a holiday cottage where everyone truly is in one place, not dotted around a hotel. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

And last, but not least, make sure you take your camera to capture the magic of a great fun family holiday before the kids grow up and start their own families!
