Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Highcliffe, we recommend you bring some essential items. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Highcliffe Accomodation

Benefits of staying in a county cottage include being able to jump out of the front door and take part in outdoor pursuits from walking to horse riding, and from fishing to paddling. Trusting the sun to shine every day is rather optimistic in Highcliffe regardless of the time of year.

We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your Highcliffe accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. If you're travelling to Highcliffe in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Highcliffe. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Highcliffe cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Don't forget to make the most of your Derbyshire holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Highcliffe. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Highcliffe.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
