Your chosen cottage should be clean and tidy on arrival, and if it is not you should inform the owner or agency immediately so that they can sort it out swiftly. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. Our great value holiday cottages to rent in Hartlepool are sometimes available for rent for a weekend, week, fortnight, two weeks or even longer.

Hartlepool Accomodation

Cottage prices in Hartlepool will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Hartlepool school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. Booking early is always a good idea. You have a much better chance of getting your preferred date and accommodation. But, that doesn't mean its impossible to get a late booking.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Hartlepool cottage. Not all places will welcome pets so please make sure that it's either clearly marked on the booking website, or if not drop a quick line to the owner to make sure.

We want you to have a great Durham holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Hartlepool. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
