Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to Harrogate, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Rainproof clothing and a light umbrella should be the first things to pack. The rain only comes when you are not prepared.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Harrogate Accomodation

Harrogate holiday accommodation rates increase in peak season, which is generally around the times of the school summer holidays. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Harrogate school summer holidays.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Harrogate accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. Should you need to cancel your accommodation, again we ask you to contact the agent or owner since we cannot talk to them on your behalf.

Although you may not be familiar with the Harrogate area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. Harrogate North Yorkshire cottages in are not just good value, but also offer the benefits of home comforts versus a hotel.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in Harrogate. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Harrogate.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
