If you are looking for a great British break then a cottage holiday could be the perfect answer for you, your friends or your family. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments. Cottage owners expect you to leave the property in the same condition as you found it - clean and tidy - and will almost always provide cleaning materials for you. Always check with the Minstead cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We often have late availability cottages to rent in Minstead for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Getting outside is one of the great benefits of staying in the countryside since so many of us live in urban centres where the air is polluted and greenery is a rarity. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable. We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue. Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.
Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Minstead cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation. Although you may not be familiar with the local area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Minstead so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions. If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you. Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them. And last, but not least, make sure you take your camera to capture the magic of a great fun family holiday before the kids grow up and start their own families!
