Many holiday cottages to discover!

Cottage holidays are becoming more and more synonymous with the Great British Break, which is why we have created this site. We work with many partners to provide the widest selection of self-catering accommodation we can find, and we hope this makes your search much more easy.

Cottage owners expect you to leave the property in the same condition as you found it - clean and tidy - and will almost always provide cleaning materials for you. Always check with the HP3 cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Throughout the area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

As a reminder, we do not actually take the cottage bookings, we simply connect your with the agencies or owners. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your HP3 holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. HP3 cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a HP3 holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in HP3 will carry tear-free shampoo. If the children are really young, don't forget to take nappies and / or a potty as you may find it harder to buy these at your destination.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
