For a great stay in the UK with family or friends, holiday cottages are the best way to relax and forget about the stresses of normal life. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments. Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. Always check with the Didsbury cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Besides the facilities within the Didsbury cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. You can never rely on the weather in Didsbury, Greater Manchester or frankly anywhere in the UK. If you find yourself trapped by the rain in Didsbury you should pull out a board game, a good book or perhaps a game of charades! With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games. Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and hole up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.
We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation. The owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Didsbury has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible. Some properties will ask for a security deposit before your arrival date - although this is required in a minority of accommodation and you will be advised at time of booking.

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you. Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in Didsbury. Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
