Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Glasnevin, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

Glasnevin Accomodation

In Glasnevin, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Glasnevin school summer holidays.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

In the unlikely event that you are not delighted with your holiday cottage in Glasnevin please email or call the agency you made the booking with. Nearly all country cottages have free parking near the property, but you may find the urban cottages to have more parking restrictions.

The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Glasnevin cottages in are not just good value, but also offer the benefits of home comforts versus a hotel.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

The fact that guests are on holiday in Glasnevin in a rental home together, sometimes with three generations in larger rental holiday homes, brings a much different atmosphere to the cottage break or holiday. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
