Cottages for families and friends in and around Gawcott

Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Gawcott, we recommend you bring some essential items. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you have a DVD player in the Buckinghamshire cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Gawcott Accomodation

Cottage prices in Gawcott will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your Gawcott holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Although you may not be familiar with the Gawcott area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Gawcott so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring.

If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Gawcott much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
