Cottage owners expect you to leave the property in the same condition as you found it - clean and tidy - and will almost always provide cleaning materials for you. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Gatley Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Gatley cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. Trusting the sun to shine every day is rather optimistic in Gatley regardless of the time of year.

If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. Nearly all country cottages have free parking near the property, but you may find the urban cottages to have more parking restrictions.

Although you may not be familiar with the Gatley area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. Gatley has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in Gatley will carry tear-free shampoo. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them.

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
