Cottages for families and friends in and around Ferndale

Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Ferndale, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

If you have a DVD player in the Rhondda Cynon Taf cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Ferndale Accomodation

In Ferndale, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Ferndale school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Ferndale accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your Ferndale accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Ferndale cottage. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Ferndale cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Rhondda Cynon Taf cottage found through us!

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

Its always a good idea to take swim suits even if you don't expect to be near a beach because you may well find a local swimming pool can be great fun. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Ferndale much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

And last, but not least, make sure you take your camera to capture the magic of a great fun family holiday before the kids grow up and start their own families!
