FY8 Cottages
Cottages for families and friends in and around FY8

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to FY8, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

FY8 Accomodation

Wherever you stay in FY8 there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable.

If you find yourself trapped by the rain in FY8 you should pull out a board game, a good book or perhaps a game of charades! With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games.

Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.

Holiday Cottages

In the unlikely event that you are not delighted with your holiday cottage in FY8 please email or call the agency you made the booking with. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your FY8 holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. FY8 cottages in are not just good value, but also offer the benefits of home comforts versus a hotel.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in FY8. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
