We love cottage holidays and Essex has some really great destinations and properties to rent, for families or groups of friends. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them. Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
