Many holiday cottages to discover!

In East Cowes, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

East Cowes Accomodation

Wherever you stay in East Cowes there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. Banking on non-stop sunny Isle of Wight weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Many owners, if they are local, will be pleased to give you tips on the best pubs and restaurants around, so make sure you ask and take advantage of the info! East Cowes is a great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in East Cowes. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
