Cottages for families and friends in and around Dyrham

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whenever you're travelling to Dyrham, there are a few things you should always take with you. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you have a DVD player in the Gloucestershire cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Dyrham Accomodation

The rates for Dyrham cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Dyrham accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Dyrham cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Some of the best cottages in Dyrham are really excellent and so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid availability disappointment.

The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Dyrham Gloucestershire cottages in are not just good value, but also offer the benefits of home comforts versus a hotel.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering always makes your holiday more relaxing in Dyrham. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Dyrham.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
