The best family rental holiday cottages in Dorset are typically small homes for rent that can be treated like your own home for the duration of your cottage holiday. Dog owners favour cottage holidays because many properties will not just allow pets but provide a few basic supplies. We often have late availability cottages to rent in Dorset for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Dorset Accomodation

Wherever you stay in Dorset there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. Great weather can never be guaranteed for every day, and there's obviously a chance of a downpour.

Although its great to be outside in Dorset, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Dorset cottages in are not just good value, but also offer the benefits of home comforts versus a hotel.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

There are few better ways to spend a holiday together as a family than in a holiday cottage where everyone truly is in one place, not dotted around a hotel. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you.

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
