Dinas Powys Cottages
Cottages for families and friends in and around Dinas Powys

Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Dinas Powys, we recommend you bring some essential items. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you like watching films and there's a DVD facility in the cottage then it's a good idea to stock up on some good movies so you can spend a couple of nights enjoying the classics. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Dinas Powys Accomodation

Throughout the area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Dinas Powys accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. If you're travelling to Dinas Powys in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Dinas Powys. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Dinas Powys cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a Dinas Powys holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Dinas Powys much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
