Cottages for families and friends in and around Denshaw

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Cottage holidays are becoming more and more synonymous with the Great British Break, which is why we have created this site. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments.

Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. Always check with the Denshaw cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We often have late availability cottages to rent in Denshaw for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Denshaw Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Denshaw cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. Banking on non-stop sunny Greater Manchester weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

As a reminder, we do not actually take the cottage bookings, we simply connect your with the agencies or owners. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your Denshaw holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Although you may not be familiar with the Denshaw area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Denshaw so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring.

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. If the children are really young, don't forget to take nappies and / or a potty as you may find it harder to buy these at your destination.

And last, but not least, make sure you take your camera to capture the magic of a great fun family holiday before the kids grow up and start their own families!
