Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to DG1, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

If you have a DVD player in the cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

DG1 Accomodation

Getting outside is one of the great benefits of staying in the countryside since so many of us live in urban centres where the air is polluted and greenery is a rarity. Banking on non-stop sunny weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Whatever you decide, we're sure it will be a memorable part of your cottage holiday in DG1.

Holiday Cottages

All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. DG1 cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
