Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whenever you're travelling to Croydon, there are a few things you should always take with you. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Croydon Accomodation

Cottage prices in Croydon will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. July and August are usually Cambridgeshire school summer holidays.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

When you choose your Croydon accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Croydon with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Croydon cottage. If the description of the Croydon cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Cambridgeshire cottage found through us!

Families, Friends and More

Families love cottage holidays because they can run to their own schedule, managing everyone's unique needs in the privacy of a comfortable home. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in Croydon.

And last, but not least, make sure you take your camera to capture the magic of a great fun family holiday before the kids grow up and start their own families!
